(Unila): Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Unila, Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal headed the Unila delegation to a meeting with Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 (UPVM3), France, on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Among those with the delegation were Prof. Ari Darmastuti, Dr. Dikpride Despa, Dr. Eng. Heri Satria, and Dr. Arie Fitria.
They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Antonio Coppolani, Vice Rector for International Relations, Francophonie, and Relations with Territorial Collectives, Prof. Frederic Leone, Director of the Geography and Regional Planning Laboratory, and Marine Chabbert, Head of the Department of International Relations.
This meeting aimed to explore the implementation of joint research, student mobility, lecturer exchanges, and preparation for the signing of the MoU between the two universities. Prof. Antonio Coppolani in his speech expressed his joy at the arrival of the Unila delegation for establishing cooperation agreement.
The implementation of the cooperation between Unila and UPVM3 has been in progress, such as the mobility of lecturers and students. UPVM3 invited an Unila lecturer, Dr. Henky Mayaguezz, in the Professor Invite program on May 13-27, 2024.
There are also some Unila students taking French courses within the framework of student mobility with the IISMA scholarship scheme. According to Prof. Antonio Coppolani overseas students often encountered language barriers as lectures at UPVM3 are mostly delivered in French.
Prof. Antonio Coppolani gives Unila students opportunities to study in Montpellier and Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal highly appreciated Prof. Coppolani’ s offers of encouraging Unila students and lecturers to study at UPVM3, hopping that the cooperation between Unila and UPVM3 could contribute to advancement of the two universities and it might be extended to other fields, such as joint research on disaster management in Indonesia.
