(Unila): Aurellia Alinka Wijaya, a student of the Physical Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Lampung (Unila), has successfully brought honor to Indonesia by securing the second place at The 13th South East Asian Karate Federation (SEAKF) Championships 2026, which took place in Ninh Binh, Vietnam, from July 6 to July 12, 2026.
Aurellia’s participation in this event is rooted in her interest in karate since elementary school. With her perseverance in training and an unwavering spirit, she has achieved various accolades, ultimately being entrusted to represent Indonesia at the Southeast Asian karate championship.
“What keeps me going is my desire to continue improving and not giving up every time I lose. Especially since my parents and coaches always support me,” she stated.
Aurellia’s journey to the Southeast Asian championship began with her participation in provincial-level selection before advancing to the National Selection (Seleknas). At this level, she succeeded in obtaining the first place, thus qualifying for the National Training Center (Pelatnas) as preparation for the PB FORKI Championship.
Following her time in Pelatnas, Aurellia again achieved first place at the PB FORKI Championship. This result allowed her to become part of the team representing Indonesia at the South East Asia Karate Federation (SEAKF) event. During the championship, she excelled, securing the second place and contributing to Indonesia’s accolades at the Southeast Asian level.
In preparing for the championship, Aurellia underwent intensive training that focused on enhancing her techniques, physical fitness, and competitive strategies. Additionally, she maintained a balanced diet, managed her rest periods, and ensured her mental readiness to deliver her best performance during competitions.
Despite her busy schedule as a student, Aurellia strives to balance her coursework and training by prioritizing tasks and managing her time efficiently. Unila’s support through academic dispensations during her national training and competitions has also facilitated her dual role as a student and an athlete representing Indonesia.
Beyond her focus on achievements, Aurellia hopes that her experiences will motivate fellow students and the broader community to dream boldly, continue striving, and persist through challenges.
“Achievements are indeed important, but what matters more is how the knowledge, experiences, and accomplishments we have can benefit others,” she remarked.
Through her accomplishments, Aurellia inspires students and the younger generation to remain diligent, disciplined, and resilient in pursuit of their aspirations.
