(Unila): Research and Community Service (LPPM) Center held the 4th international conference on Science, Technology and Environment (ULICoSTE), Thursday to Friday, 7 and 8 September 2023 with the theme “Technology and Sustainability: Innovations and Solutions for Shaping the Future”.

The conference opened by the Secretary of LP2M Unila, Suparman Arif, M.Pd., was particularly focused on the latest technological advances and their benefits for future lives of the world.

This year’s ULICoSTE presented keynote speakers from France, Palestine, China and Indonesia among others, Assoc. Prof. Jiajia Shan, from Dalian University of Technology, China, Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Benaouda from the Dijon Agro Institute, France, Prof. Wersam Almadhoun from Gaza University, Palestine, Prof. Diding Suhandy from Unila, and Prof. Nurul Taufiqurrahman, Chair of the Brin Indonesian Nano Society.

Suparman Arif said that this event was a concrete manifestation of Unila’s commitment to advancing research, development and understanding in the context of science, technology and the environment to cope with the global challenges in terms of climate changes, sustainability of natural resources, and environmental management.

The topics of the conference included new technologies and innovative business models, the impacts of digital transformation on industries, the potential of artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology, and eco-friendly materials, technologies and carbon emissions, waste management and material recycling , and innovative sustainable agriculture and food systems.

After the session presenting material by the keynote speaker, the participants continued their activities in parallel sessions and presented the results of the research they had conducted.

The conference is expected to be a space for collective-collegial intellectual-academic interaction for scientists, researchers and intellectuals across social science disciplines and the technological environment, so that it can inspire the emergence of ideas and theories for researchers. [PR Team]
