(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) welcomed a 21-year-old student, Muzamil Kakar from Kabul, Afghanistan. Muzamil is a student with a high spirit in creating positive changes for his communities.

He decided to study in Indonesia as his study destination with the consideration of its rich cultural heritages, diverse population, as well as the largest Muslim-majority country, and numerous opportunities to begin his future career.

Muzamil is specifically majoring in international relations (HI) with the scholarship awarded by Unila, the campus with excellent academic curriculum, and high ranking in Indonesia so that he takes advantage of the unique experience from studying in this green campus, Unila.

He is majoring in the HI as his passion to make a positive impact on the world. Hailing from a war-torn country, for him, HI represents a path to promote peace, advance human rights, fight poverty, and resolve global conflicts.

He is passionate about bringing the important issue of educational equality in his country to the world, hopping that young people have high spirits as him. With the knowledge gained at Unila, he necessarily contributes to resolving conflicts and promoting international cooperation.

For him, studying HI has piqued his interest in understanding global issues and gaining insights into diplomacy, conflict resolution, and global governance. He aims to work globally after completing his studies at Unila by promoting peace, advancing human rights, and fighting poverty.

Unila also provides the students with various extracurricular activities and engagement opportunities related to HI such as leadership and diplomacy that allow him to develop his skills and to broaden his perspective.

As an overseas student, he initially struggled with language barrier as Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia) is formally used as a medium of instructions and as means of communication among Indonesian people. However, he managed to overcome these obstacles by taking language courses and interacting with local friends.

He does hope that he can pursue his higher education to master’s degree at the best universities in the world and founded the global youth association which enables him to promote cultural exchanges, the empowerment of the younger generation, and the development of leadership skills through various programs.

He admits that Unila has a big impact on his ideas and career, providing him with knowledge, skills, and experience for his future career. He also praised the outstanding quality of Unila lecturers and high cooperation, which left a deep impression on him. He advised that Unila students keep up the good work so that they make positive contributions to lives. [PR Team]
