(Unila): A comprehensive discussion regarding the potential collaboration between the Faculty of Law (FH), the University of Lampung (Unila) and the Faculty of Law, Monash University, Australia was put in place on Wednesday, 21 June 2023.

The discussion was attended by Prof. Jean Allain, and Dr. H. Nadirsyah Hosen from Monash University and the dean and FH Uiila lecturers, the Dean, Dr. M. Fakih and Dr. Rudi Natamiharja among others.

Dr. M. Fakih conveyed his satisfaction and honor over the attendance of esteemed guests from Monash University, hopping that collaboration between the two faculties, FH Unila and Law Faculty, Monash University is important to do to foster the standards of education and research with respect to law at FH Unila.

The FH Unila institution also organizes a yearly recurring event known as the International Conferences on Fundamental Rights. Additionally, an invitation was extended to Monash University to engage in collaboration and contribute to the topic by participating as one of the speakers.

In the meantime, Professor Jean Allain conveyed his appreciation for the hospitable reception extended by FH Unila and Lampung Province. According to his statement, Monash University has strong connections with Indonesia.

This assertion is substantiated by the considerable proportion of Monash University graduates originating from Indonesia. He also expressed their appreciation for the forthcoming collaboration initiative that is set to be created with FH Unila.

Monash University provides a collaborative opportunity in the realm of law through its student and lecturer exchange program.

Dr. Nadirsyah Hosen provided an explanation on the diverse range of study programs offered by Monash University in the field of law. These programs encompass undergraduate programs, juris doctor programs, rigorous Master of Law programs, and the Monash Law Research Critical Mass program.

Additionally, it was communicated that Monash University possesses multiple legal study institutes that serve as venues for publishing scholarly works, hosting seminars, and facilitating collaborative research endeavors.

The primary emphasis of the relationship between FH Unila and Monash University should be around this aspect.

FH Unila also intends to engage in a discourse regarding the master of law program and the opportunities for pursuing a double degree. FH Unila has expressed high expectations for Monash University to take part as a reviewer for its collection of nine legal publications.

The discussion concluded with the formalization of a memorandum of understanding between the two academic faculties. Both sides express their aspirations for a mutual relationship for the advancement of legal science in both Indonesia and Australia. [PR Team]
