(Unila): Rafifah Karimah, a student enrolled in the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) at the University of Lampung (Unila), is appointed a representative of Indonesia in the Culture Education Program Youth Changemaker Volunteering Chapter Malaysia Batch VI.
The program organized by the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Malaysia, was scheduled to take place from the 30th of May to the 2nd of June 2023.
The Youth Changemaker Volunteering Chapter Malaysia Batch VI Program refers to a service initiative designed to engage young generations from diverse educational and professional backgrounds in voluntary efforts pertaining to education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and community service.
The program particularly targets Indonesian youth, with a focus on providing assistance to migrant workers and children.
The objective is to cultivate a sense of nationalistic sentiment within one of the guidance studios of the Indonesian Embassy located in Malaysia.
The student enrolled in the Agribusiness Study Program, Unila, actively participated in cultural education program initiatives organized by Changemaker, a non-governmental organization based in Indonesia and operating under the supervision of the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia.
The motivation for seeking membership in the Malaysian Chapter of the Youth Changemaker Volunteering Program stems from a desire to actively participate in efforts to enhance the standard of living for the population residing in Tanah Melayu, Indonesia.
According to Rafifah Karimah this program is very beneficial because she learn many things about culture, education systems and health care in Malaysia. She also share experiences and knowledge with friends from a number of regions in Indonesia who are taking part in this program.
Rafifah Karimah participated in this program through a series of rigorous selection steps. The registration process for program participants encompasses multiple pathways, namely the administration pathway, social media pathway, and changes pathway.
During the registration process, participants are required to complete a form that includes many essay questions related to educational, ethical, and background topics.
Furthermore, prospective candidates are required to develop tangible, feasible, and environmentally conscious initiatives that will facilitate their involvement throughout their tenure in the adjacent nation.
Subsequently, the stage of Focus Group Discussion was overseen directly by the creator of Changemaker Indonesia, who possessed certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP-RI), as well as by lecturers and other supervisors.
“I am grateful to be able to pass the selection and have the opportunity to take part in this program. I hope this program can continue and have a positive impact on the Indonesian people in Malaysia,” said Rafifah.
The program targets individuals between the ages of 17 and 30 who are citizens of Indonesia or foreigners residing in Indonesia. Participants must have completed their education up to the level of SMA/SMK or its equivalent from a recognized educational institution in Indonesia.
They are expected to demonstrate commitment and responsibility throughout the entire registration and program process. Additionally, participants should possess a strong sense of social responsibility and be capable of working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Lastly, participants should be prepared to actively contribute to society as alumni of the Indonesian Changemaker program, with the aim of creating positive impacts for others.
The program encompasses various components, such as conducting comparative studies at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School (SIKL), delivering instruction at the Indonesian Embassy’s Guidance Studios in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, participating in certified public speaking training, engaging in certified softskill and hardskill self-skill training, exploring Malaysian culture and technological advancements, and visiting multiple companies in Malaysia.
Rafifah acknowledged her contentment and sense of pride in assuming the role as a delegate for Changemaker Indonesia. According to his assertion, his participation as a delegate in the Indonesian Changemaker program serves as evidence of his profound affection for the nation.
Numerous talents are acquired through various means, including but not limited to, the development of public speaking abilities, the cultivation of teamwork experiences, and the enhancement of problem-solving aptitude.
“We can also exchange culture with foreigners, talk to them and introduce our culture,” she said when interviewed by the website team.
Rafifah gave a message to young Indonesian men and women who want to create change. “Start with yourself. There are many ways to change, not just with words or public speaking.
Many other things await, such as the Indonesian Changemaker program, meeting directly with Indonesian brothers and sisters in Malaysia who need our attention. “But remember, ethics is the key to success,” she said. [PR Team]
