(Unila): Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Novotel Hotel in Bandarlampung, the Language Development and Development Agency of the Lampung Provincial Language Office conducted an award ceremony for the 2023 Lampung Province Language Ambassador.

This event seeks to recognize young people for their contributions to language, literature, and literacy.

Desi Ari Prisanti, the head of the Lampung Province Language Office, said that language ambassadors refer to members of the younger generation who are proficient in Bahasa Indonesia (national Indonesian language) and literature as well as local languages.

Language ambassadors are strategic partners in developing, nurturing, and protecting language and literature, as well as enhancing the function of Bahasa Indonesia.

Nine students from the University of Lampung were nominated finalists of the event namely Alek Zulta Anggara, Ananda Cindy Adista Putri, Anindya Zahra Sabila, Fifi Afiyah Ramadita Hermawan, Made Darme Wintara, Naomi Ambar Wulan, Rahel Bela Krisna Br Situmorang, Riza Fariz Abqori, and Zadra Riansyah.

After undergoing quarantine, the finalists demonstrated their superior abilities of UKBI tests, language, and talent interviews.

Riza Fariz Abqori, Made Darme Wintara, Zadra Riyansyah, and Fifi Afiyah Ramadita Hermawan, Rahel Bela Krisna Br. Situmorang won first, second, third, forth, and fifth place respectively.

Alek Zulta Anggara and Anindya Zahra Sabila deserved multimedia awards and Naomi Ambar Wulan won favorite.

Riza Fariz Abqori expressed his happiness and pride for being appointed a language ambassador hopping that young generation would appreciate Indonesian language and literature.

Riza Faris Abqori majoring in international relations who placed second in the competition, was ecstatic and appreciative about his accomplishment.

He shared his experiences while participating in the language ambassador program, saying that this program offers numerous opportunities for education and employment one of which is a language ambassador class.

The ambassadors were encouraged to assist orphanage children to develop their writing abilities. The kids were taught how to compose scientific articles, papers, and others so that they are aware of their accomplishments and aspirations.

Nominated the title of language ambassador, they are reliable and have capability of serving the community. They expressed gratitude to those who have supported for their success.

Made Darme Wintara won third recipient of the 2023 Lampung Language Ambassador competition, defeating some 810 applicants. She wished to promote and preserve the Lampung language and culture, particularly among the youth.

Ambassadors of the Lampung language were to work on educating the public about the significance of the Lampungese language, introducing aspects of Lampungese culture, and highlighting the significance of preserving regional language and culture.
