(Unila): The Chancellor of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani highlighted the stagnant academic functional position of some Medical Faculty (FK) lecturers during her visit to the Faculty of Medicine, Friday, April 28 2023.
According to her, this circumstance often results in the constraint on the legal requirement for a given post, such as head of study program and dean of the faculty.
With reference to the circumstance, Prof. Lusmeilia advised the professors to make a plan regarding the promotion of lecturers’ academic functional position within two months, assigning the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs as an interim FK Dean.
She also insisted on the importance of professors’ collaboration with junior lecturers to attain common aims. During the visit, Dr. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, the interim Dean of the Unila Medical Faculty, reminded the lecturers to keep service students as FK faculty’s top priority.
Similarly, the Chancellor suggested that the service to the students be the first priority in spite of the shortage of lecturers due to their taking leave for study. She also asked all of the lecturers at Unila to lead the students to reach their highly academic achievement so that they could sort out their studies in due course and they contribute to the community.
The chancellor’s visit is intended to create synergy between the rectorate and the medical faculty, as well as to strengthen the link between the Unila FK academic community. [PR Team]
