(Unila): Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, Vice Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs, attended the beginning of the National Pencak Silat Open Tournament Lampung Championship VI 2023 on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at GSG Unila.

The event organised by the Lampung Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) in partnership with Tapak Suci Unila and Silat Production UKM drew 1,115 warriors from the provinces of Lampung, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, and Yogyakarta.

The contest is organised into 34 classes for children and adults, as well as single, double, and team art categories. Dr. Anna warmly welcomed the participants and expressed her gratitude to them, hopping that the participants adhere fair play competitions.

According to her, Pencak Silat constitutes a cultural heritage of the nation to facilitate the nation’s generations to stay physically and mentally healthy. Pencak Silat is also regarded as a unique sport in that it encourages children to develop their confidence and intelligence.

The chairman of IPSI Lampung, Faisol Djausal, expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor of Unila for providing the infrastructure so that the tournament could be well put in place as planed.

He further expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chancellor of Unila and the organising committee for successfully organising the Lampung Championship VI Tournament, given that the event was not easy to carry out. [PR Team]
