(Unila): Along with other university and faculty level leaders, the Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) took part in celebrating the carnival and art goodwill as a part of the 55th Anniversary of Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP), Unila on February 17, 2023.
The Rector and her staff were picked up by carnival participants, taking them to FKIP hall, and they were welcomed by the Dean of FKIP. FKIP Staff and students took part in the carnival, exhibiting musical and cultural performances that are exclusive to Lampung, as well as a range of traditional clothing from different regions.
The participants of the carnival were pleased to welcome the Rector and other leaders at FKIP, each of whom was wearing the traditional bridal attire of Lampung Pepadun. The Rector along with FKIP leaders greeted and visited every single stand organized by the study program located in front of Hall K.
When the first female rector of Unila stepped to the main stage, she received equally joyful responses. In front of the stage door, students welcomed the FKIP Unila extended family and performed dances and played music.
The ceremony’s host, Prof. Sunyono, Dean of FKIP Unila, welcomed the university officials in the 55th FKIP Anniversary, hoping that the anniversary would promote FKIP top faculty as stipulated in the vision. “Collaboration and Synergy for Superior Innovation” was chosen as the theme of this year’s anniversary.
The purpose of the FKIP Art Carnival and Goodwill was to express a sense of solidarity, to explore the creativity as made in the field of art of the academic community in the FKIP environment, and to promote intercultural tolerance in FKIP. According to Prof. Sunyono, Lampung is a mini Indonesia in that ethnic sharing from all over Indonesia exists in Lampung province.
Prof. Lusmeilia greeted the invited visitors in attendance with a cheery smile. Also, she conveyed her gratitude and appreciation to the academic community and the FKIP Dean for making the FKIP art carnival and goodwill event possible.
Prof. Lusmeilia said that it was the first time for Unila to host such a magnificent event other private and state universities have never done that everyone was proud of FKIP.
Unila’s academic community was very grateful as the culture from Sabang to Merauke, from Aceh, West Java to Papua was exhibited in the FKIP anniversary. This indicates that the entire academic community is in agreement for Unila Jaya (glorious Unila).
The Rector also dedicated two Lampung traditional homes on the occasion as the Lampung’s center for art and culture. The Dean of FKIP and the Rector symbolically carried out the inauguration by signing the inscription of the Lampung Culture Laboratory Building.
She commend FKIP for consistently bringing fresh nuances and ideas to the spheres of culture and education. This inscription is expected to give inspiration to our cultural development as the expression of appreciating our incredible culture.
The committee of FKIP UNILA’s carnival and art goodwill welcomed the University top leaders and invited guests with a number of performances from FKIP students, lecturers, and staff.
The performances included the Lampung oral literature parade, Medley Nusantara dance performances, orchestral music, songs and musicalization of poetry and others. [PR Team]
