(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani, inaugurated her four new deputies and head of Unila’s Center for Research and Community Service (LP2M) for the period, 2023-2027 at the 4th floor courtroom, Thursday, February 16, 2023.
The four deputies include the Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, Deputy Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Rudy, Deputy Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation and ICT (PKTIK) Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, and head of LP2M, Dr. Habibullah Jimad.
The inauguration was to reshuffle the former four deputies and head of Center for Research and Community Service (LP2M). They were Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Murhadi, M.Si., Deputy Rector for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Asep Sukohar, Deputy Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Yulianto, Vice Rector for PKTIK Prof. Suharso, and head of LP2M, Dr. Rudy.
Mrs. Rector in her speech congratulated the officials who have just been sworn in and taken the oath of office, hoping that the newly appointed officials to do their best.
She stressed that all levels of administrators and staff at the University of Lampung need to preserve and even further enhance their strong coordination and synergy so that any issues could be dealt with.
She further reminds the staff, stating that no matter who leads this university, the authorities and staff members will have to keep up good work as our high commitment and moral principles to the institution.
She believes that the five newly appointed officials are those with high competence, commitment, loyalty, and honesty in both their professional and personal lives. Officials have thoroughly considered their decision by soliciting input from diverse groups, and are determined based on qualifications and integrity.
She asked the Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs to facilitate lecturers to have their quality improved as well as to make sure that the MBKM program at Unila keeps running as planned. Academic innovations need to be made to meet the necessity of student comfort in the teaching and learning process.
The Deputy Rector for General Affairs and Finance is assigned to manage campus finances as well and efficiently as possible, to encourage innovation of new revenue streams for Unila by utilizing its own resources, and to enhance business unit management for the benefit of the campus.
The Deputy Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs is particularly in charge of bridging both campus and student interests by communicating with students using their languages in the sense that campus needs to approach students with persuasive and humanistic manners.
This is intended to foster positive relationships and synergies between students and campus (Unila) which in turn will be beneficial for campus lives. The deputy Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs is also required to provide students with activities to improve their achievement so that campus should be proud of them which may lead to raise public trust and pride.
Prof. Lusmeilia asked Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation and ICT (PKTIK) to promote collaboration, to strengthen teamwork, and to actualize synergy by maximizing contributions from various parties and managing organizational partnerships through effective, beneficial, and long-lasting partnerships with the business and industrial worlds as well as other partners at home and abroad.
She also insisted on paying more attention on achieving Unila’s lofty goals of being a world-class university, encouraging community cells to participate in the SDGs, fostering cooperation through the Kedaireka initiative, and implementing cooperative research projects with QS 100 institutions by subject (joint research and publication).
To improve Unila’s academic standing, research agenda need to focus on innovation and development based on science and technology and to increase the quantity and significance of community services to follow up the findings of educational and research activities.
Prof. Lusmeilia also thanked the former Deputy Rectors for their dedication to UNILA. She did appreciate hard works of the former rectors who have made a lot of great progress for Unila so that it is regarded as the best University in Sumatra with the top 9 ranking in the national level.
