UI GreenMetric is an annual publication of university rankings in the commitment to sustainable development on campuses in Indonesia and the world. UI GreenMetric assesses universities based on progress and commitment in building green and sustainable campuses.
The UI GreenMetric ranking was initiated by the University of Indonesia since 2010. In 2021, some 956 universities from 80 countries around the world participated and increased to 1,050 universities from 85 countries in the world and 126 universities in Indonesia in 2022.
At this year’s UI GreenMetric award, the University of Lampung achieved 13th national ranking. In December 2021, the UI Rating GreenMetric placed the University of Lampung in 15th place at the national level.
The UI GreenMetric ranking of World Universities is based on three basic indicators namely environment, economic and equity, with weights covering campus conditions and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water use, transportation, and education.
In addition to infrastructure development in the form of building lectures and laboratories, the University of Lampung also pays attention on the environment by building an environmentally and friendly green campus.
Unila Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi welcomed this achievement as a trigger for Unila to continue to improve the development of a green and sustainable campus. In 2023 Unila ranking of GreenMetric will continue to rise.
Unila Deputy Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. Asep Sukohar, is also grateful for the achievements of Unila ranking thirteenth. UI GreenMetric is one of the programs that has also received attention because it has an impact on the national, regional, and international environment.
The improvement in a number of sectors Unila has made, resulted in better achievement and an attempt with respect to the aspects of Sustainable Development Goals needs to be made to achieve better ranking in the following year. [PR Team]
