(Unila): The Research and Community Service center (LPPM) in collaboration with Women’s Association (DWP), University of Lampung (Unila) held a national seminar on “Green campus for a sustainable campus and environmental conservation with the utilization of eco enzyme” in the hall of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

The seminar with the theme, “Eco enzyme smart solutions save the earth” was officially opened the Unila rector, Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi, through a zoom meeting.

Mohammad Sofwan Effendi in his remarks insisted on the important roles of green campus as one of ways out to environmental issues throughout the world, especially Indonesia, in which a large category of waste production is currently produced, including food waste.

Therefore, the issue of environmental friendliness and environmental health, especially on campuses and schools, has become the main concerns of the government and it needs to be shortly sorted out to have our environment stayed clean and free from pollution.

The eco enzymes can be used in households instead of detergents, soaps, shampoos and floor cleaning fluids. It can also be used in agriculture, as organic fertilizer. Research on eco enzymes has also been carried out for more than 30 years for the sake of reducing the effect of global warming.

Mohammad Sofwan Effendi hopes that the seminar contributes to concrete action from Unila both the academic staff and the Unila Women’s Darma Association to keep our environment sustainable.

Meanwhile, the head of LPPM, Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani, reported that the seminar was particularly aimed to introduce and provide learning about the concept of making eco enzymes in a sustainable manner. LPPM organized this seminar as manifestation of a moral responsibility and community service.

The keynote speakers of seminar were the leader of the Lampung Organic Farmers Society and Dr. Dewi Agustina Iryani, describing the materials with respect to the benefits and uses of eco enzyme, as well as guiding of producing eco enzyme.

The seminar was attended by approximately 80 participants from the Unila Darma Wanita Association and mother association from Kampung Baru village, Rajabasa district. [PR Team]
