(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) conducted a student development programme for those who successfully secured funding for the Student Creativity Programme (PKM) and the Student Entrepreneurship Programme (P2MW) on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, in the second meeting room of the Unila Rectorate.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Sunyono, M.Si., the Head of the Academic Bureau, the Deans’ representatives for Student Affairs and Alumni, heads of academic departments, the Chair of the Student Management Team (TPM), the Student Achievement Management Team (TP2M), the PKM Centre Team of Unila, as well as the students who secured funding.
The event’s organiser, Dr. Sumargono, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that out of approximately 100 proposals submitted to the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) after undergoing an internal selection process, 18 proposals successfully obtained funding.
This comprised 13 proposals across eight fields of PKM and five proposals in the incentive category. This achievement marks an increase compared to the previous year, which saw 14 proposals approved.
Meanwhile, Prof. Sunyono conveyed that the achievements of PKM at Unila in 2026 indicate positive development. Amidst a nationwide decline in the number of proposals receiving funding, Unila has successfully secured the tenth position nationally and the second position in Sumatra.
He elaborated that the next challenge is to increase the number of proposals that advance to the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas). In the previous year, Unila achieved one gold medal and ranked sixth nationally at the Pimnas event.
Development through the PKM Centre will continue to be strengthened to identify and support proposals with the potential to succeed at the national level.
“The programmes organised by Belmawa are the best means to showcase student achievements, particularly in PKM. This is a prestigious event as it brings together students from various top universities across Indonesia,” he stated.
In addition to serving as a platform for the development of student creativity and innovation, participation in PKM provides academic benefits through the recognition of learning outcomes.
Students who secure funding receive recognition equivalent to six credit points (SKS), while those who qualify for Pimnas receive recognition equivalent to ten SKS, and winners of Pimnas receive recognition equivalent to 14 SKS.
Through this series of activities, Unila reinforces its commitment to fostering a culture of research, innovation, and student creativity through the support of the Student Creativity Programme (PKM).
This event also serves as a strategic effort to enhance the quality of proposals, strengthen collaboration among students, supervising lecturers, and institutions, as well as prepare students to excel and compete at the national level through Pimnas. [Gandhi Irawan]
