(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) hosted a dissemination of the findings of international cooperation visits in June. This was a follow-up to the work agenda of the French and American UNILA Teams i.e., the rector, the vice rector for academics, the vice rector for PKTIK, and the head of UPT PKLI.

The dissemination, which took place in the courtroom on the second floor of the rectorate building on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, was intended to ask for feedback from participants as the basis to support the Unila’s World Class University (WCU) goal and to inform Unila staff that the visit of the Unila team in the two countries, Franch and the USA, brought a lot of benefits.

Top administrators of faculties and work units took part in the discussion of the findings of the visits, among others, Dr. Heri Satria, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, the Faculty of Mathematics and natural Sciences.

Heri stated that the teams from the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty and the Faculty of Law, which were in charge of the exact sciences and social affairs, respectively, had followed up on the outcomes of the meeting at the 12th Joint Working Group (JWG) event in Valenciennes, Hauts-de-France, France.

According to Heri, FMIPA has worked with three French universities: UnilaSalle, Université de Technologie de Troyes, and University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. The trip, which was undertaken with Prof. Dr. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., the head of LPPM Unila, is reportedly proceeding without a hitch.

Collaboration with respect to research and international conferences with the three universities was also successfully negotiated. Since the three universities are part of a French university alliance, the collaboration also has a multiplier impact.

“This is another advantage for Unila to increase collaboration with French universities, one of which is deploying personnel or lecturers who desire to pursue their research, studies, or other programmes in French colleges,” he remarked.

Prof. Lusmeilia further pointed out that UNILA’s planned actions to foster links between France and Indonesia were well accepted. The Unila team was meeting with Warsito, S.Si., D.E.A., Ph.D., the Attaché for Education and Culture (Atdikbud) of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, during their stay at UnilaSalle.

The collaboration has beneficial effects for the students doing in their S2 and S3 programmes at Unila, having a chance to get advice, carrying out part-time research at UNILASalle, and working with professors who specialise in their disciplines as mentors.

Meanwhile, working trips to Sciences Po, the law school at Aix Marseille University (AMU), and Paris-Panthéon-Assas University in Paris were done by Dr. Muhammad Fakih, dean of the faculty of law at Unila, and his colleagues.

The UNILA law team was welcomed with enthusiasm as it was the only social science faculty that was promoting collaboration. More in-depth conversations about cooperation in the sphere of education were made face-to-face between vice deans and colleague deans.

A keynote speaker at the 2018 I-Coffee FH Unila international conference, Prof. Dr. Idris Fassasi, LL.M., was also introduced to the Unila FH team. Prof. Fassasi is eager to work with UNILA students on cooperative research projects, student exchanges, and other initiatives, according to the statement.

According to Dr. Fakih, swiftness and correctness were required to continue the current partnership. The implementation of the mutually agreed-upon partnership is something that the French universities are eagerly awaiting. [PR Team]
