(Unila): Some 27 overseas students participated in an online academic introduction and campus life orientation activity, Wednesday, September 8, 2021. The students are new admissions to the international student programme commencing 2021/2022.
They came from their countries of origin, Afghanistan, Palestine, Madagascar, Algeria, Tanzania, India, Gaza, Somalia, and Yemen among others. Prof. Karomani, Rector of Unila, welcomed the overseas students, attending the orientation activities for academic introductions and campus life for overseas students.
According to him, Unila, one of the state universities founded in 1965 and ranked in global rankings, 4ICU and Scimago institution, continues to encourage students to be professional and responsible individuals particularly in intercultural communication with the students from diverse backgrounds.
Prof. Suharso, Vice Rector of PKTIK Unila, was among Unila top officials to welcome the international students. The orientation included a number of activities, i.e., the introduction of overseas students, faculty staff, as well as the presentation of information on campus lives.
Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, a head of Unila International Office, delivered the first session’s presentation on academic and non-academic regulations for international students. Dr. Sukirlan, a head of Language Centre, introduced Siakadu and BIPA (Indonesian language class for foreign students).
Indra Jaya Wiranata continued the presentation in the second session with an introduction to Lampung’s arts and culture, followed by Donny’s explanation of immigration documents and the immigration permit for overseas students.
