(Unila): The Community Service Advisory Board (BP2M), the University of Lampung (Unila) hosted Entrepreneurial Student Program (PMW) 2021.

Participants were asked to come for an interview regarding their motivation in entrepreneurship with the committee to make sure that they are eligible to attend the program.

Budi Harjo, the head of Bp2M Unila Student Creativity and Entrepreneurship, said that the students, participating PMW this year, continued to increase, double in numbers compared to those of the previous year.

The students proposed very creative business ideas, making use of unique raw materials to generate products which in turn improve the value of the product.

According to him, this year, Unila provides some 1,000 students whose passion is self-employment with opportunities to compete in PMW.

The 200 best proposals were tightly selected to get financial and monitoring supports until they are eligible to participate in similar activities in national levels.

The program is set to facilitate students to develop their future career, particularly being reliable entrepreneurs.

The students need to follow stages of attending Unila 2021 PMW, first submitting interview proposals, an approval of financial supports, followed by monitoring, and strengthening.

The group of five students submitted PMW proposal in a form of a proposal for running or ongoing business.

Each group will have to present the outline of the proposal before the committee to determine the extent to which the students are highly motivated to join entrepreneurship.

Once financial support is awarded by the government, Unila will shortly provide the team with support in the form of an incubation program.

The program is expected to support the sustainability of Unila’s road map so that the target of entrepreneurial students could be achieved.

Budi Harjo encouraged students to actively participate in the entrepreneurship program so as not only to achieve their better lives but also to create new jobs for others.

The PMW program is expected to help students improve the marketing production process as well. Thus, the innovation of marketing also needs to be made. Extra funding is also needed to boost the production and productivity. [PR Team]
