(Unila): 66 postgraduate students from the University of Lampung (Unila) participated in the signing of the agreement for student recipients of the Unila research and teaching sssistant masters program in 2021.

The agenda, which was arranged into two phases, was held on Monday, August 30, 2021, in the Unila Postgraduate Building’s ground floor hall. Directly present are Prof. Ahmad Saudi Samosir, Deputy Director for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Simon Sembiring, and Dr. Maulana Mukhlis, Deputy Director for General Affairs.

Ahmad Saudi Samosir when opening the event said that the 2021 Unila Masters Program Research and Teaching Assistant Scholarship Program aims to encourage the acceleration of scientific publications among Unila lecturers and students.

To ensure this, a scholarship agreement between Unila, in this case postgraduates, and students enrolled in the programme needs to be signed.

Along with publications, the students accepted into this programme will have to actively participate in the Unila Postgraduate Program’s national and international seminars. Additionally, students enrolled in this programme are expected to assist with various accreditation and reaccreditation preparations for the study programme they have chosen.

“Students are required to publish articles in peer-reviewed international journals as well as Sinta 1–3 indexed journals,” Ahmad Saudi explained.

On the same occasion, Dr. Maulana Mukhlis, Deputy Director for Postgraduate General Affairs, stated that the programme will be evaluated and monitored at the end of each semester.

It takes a strong attitude and a sense of community to foster an academic climate conducive which in turn to achieve the aforementioned goals and obligations. “This is not a typical scholarship; there are responsibilities for each party involved, including postgraduates, study programmes, and students,” he explained.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Simon Sembiring stated that the criteria for superior people are those who are willing to confront all obstacles and who have the opportunity to obtain this scholarship to advance.

Additionally, he suggested that students in this programme should continue to focus on the research they conducted while writing their thesis. This strategy enables students to write their thesis more easily later. [PR Team]
