(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) arranged a forum of group discussion (FGD) to collect opinions particularly from Unila’s overseas graduate lecturers to better a roadmap towards a world class university.

The FGD initiated by the Rector of Unila was organized by the technical implementation unit for international cooperation and service development (UPT PKLI) Unila virtually on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

The FGD was also attended by Vice Rector for PKTIK, Prof. Suharso, deans, vice deans, as well as overseas graduate lecturers. Prof. Warsito, the Education and Culture Attaché (Atdikbud) of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, was among participants to attend the FGD.

The FGD among the overseas graduate lecturers constitutes a forum to accommodate diverse ideas of lecturers’ collaboration to transform Unila into a state higher education institution of incorporated legal entity (PTNBH) so that Unila can compete in global levels.

Suharso said that the agenda is an opportunity to collect the lecturers’ opinions and to implement 8 Key Performance Indicators (IKU) established by the Ministry of Education and Technology.

Prof. Karomani in his speech said an attempt to boost competitiveness among regional and international higher education institutions has been made to achieve a world-class university.

To achieve the goal, he asked the lecturers to work in synergy among academic staff for the purpose of international collaboration particularly with the world’s top 100 universities.

The FGD among Unila overseas graduate lecturers is regarded one of the fundamental strategies to undertake collaboration with top 100 world universities.

Other strategies  include collaboration between university to university (U2U), and availability of the English-language website, including  a contact person of the study programs as well as the budget. [PR Team]
