(Unila): Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (Director General of SDPPI) Ministry of Communication and Information Technology cooperates with FISIP University of Lampung to held SDPPI Goes to Campus.

The activity aims to enhance the understanding of the younger generation about the radio frequency spectrum and its use.

The event, which took place at the Unila FISIP Hall on Thursday (5/16/2019), carried out a theme entitled “Frequency and Telecommunications Devices for Millennials.

Vice-Rector for Student and Alumnae Affairs, Prof. Karomani, in his remarks,  explained that frequency is an effective and efficient natural resource that is available alongside people’s lives.

The use of radio during the industrial revolution 4.0 is considered globalized. The progress of science and technology in the field of information, mainly radio frequency, is one of the essential parts of the mass media.

“Besides the task of communication practitioners, both radio and other media must always educate, maintain positive information content, and avoid hoaxes,” said Karomani.

Directorate General of SDPPI, Dr. Ismail, stated, frequency is an integrated system and mechanism. “The use of frequency should be organized. It is called the table regulation guidelines,” he said.

Ismail hopes that students can explore the substance of information content. “Also, as the agents of change, students are asked to use frequencies according to their place. It is not allowed using the frequence in a prohibited place such as the frequency of gadgets in the airplane”. []
