(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., delegated 35 students of the Community Service (KKN) Program to three regions, namely Ternate, Banten, and Medan. The ceremony took place in the Senate Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the Rectorate building, Wednesday (7/10/2019).
The Head of the Executing Agency of KKN Unila, Sri Waluyo, Ph.D., said that the University of Lampung is still participating in the National Community Service Program organized by Khairun University by delegating five students.
Besides, the two other programs were KKN together with the BKS-PTN Barat at the University of Sumatra and the Trilateral KKN at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and Jakarta Veterans University.
Unila will delegate five students each for the BKS-PTN Barat and 25 students for the Trilateral KKN. They will stay temporarily in the Lebak district in Banten Province.
Moreover, Hasriadi, in his remarks, said that during KKN, students were expected to directly learn by experiencing the reality in the community life by themselves.
Students must have the competencies of critical thinking, creative, communicative, collaborative, visionary, and entrepreneurial. “So it’s not patronizing. You are educated to be a leader. Then you have to know about real-life out there,” he added. []
