(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., symbolically laid the Groundbreaking of Building B and C of FEB. It marked a commencement for the Smart Building construction of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Thursday (11/07/2019).
After the groundbreaking made by the rector, the ceremony was also followed by the Dean of FEB, Prof. Dr. Satria Bangsawan, S.E., M.Sc.; Vice-Rector for General and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhamad Kamal, M.Sc.; Vice-Rector for PKTIK Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahatma Kefepaksi, M.Sc.; continued by Unila FEB elders, as well as the representatives of KAFE – Unila.
Satria said that the total funding for the construction of this five-level building was about Rp60 billion. For details, Rp11 billion will be allocated in the first year, Rp24 billion will be in the second year, while Rp26 billion will be set for the finishing. Hence the target of this building construction will be completed by the next 2021.
The construction of the FEB Smart Building is a response to the era of 4.0. Revolution. Besides, FEB, which has been internationally accredited, is committed to improve and adapt to this era. Also, it aims to achieve Unila vision of becoming top ten university in 2025.
Satria said, Smart was defined as an IT-based digitalization building so that lecturers and students residing in this building can adapt to the current global situation. Meanwhile, the green building reflects a campus-based on Greenmetric combining with a green atmosphere, an open building, and sun exposure.
“The more available the facilities are, the more comfortable the students learn will be. It is the ultimate goal of this building construction. Likewise, lecturers and staff will also improve their performance so that they can be more productive to set the students and alumni to international competitiveness,” he explained.
Prof. Hasriadi added that smart building is a sophisticated infrastructure that is needed to bring up the Unila to its road map destination.
The University of Lampung is committed to optimizing the funding system independently to build the infrastructure by active collaboration with various parties. “Hopefully that this FEB Smart Building drives an encouragement to perform better for the future challenges,” he concluded.
