(Unila): The practice of community service continues to be carried out by the University of Lampung (Unila) as part of the implementation of tridarma of higher education. One of them was done by Unila through Darma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) in Ramadan 1440H.

This time the community service was in the form of delivery of a number of basic food packages for a number of employees in Unila sub-KPA environment. A total of 165 basic food packages were distributed by the organization to the recipients. The activity took place on the second floor of Rectorate Building, Tuesday (05/21/2019).

The Chief Executive of KPA DWP Unila Mahanani Sariman said that previously DWP Unila had held the same activity so this became the second agenda under the leadership of Urip Mulyati Mat Akin, the Chairperson of Unila DWP.

This effort is a manifestation of DWP Unila’s concern to employees in the Rectorate who have also contributed to advance the University of Lampung.

Mahanani explained, this year the number of packages distributed increased from 102 to 165 packages. The distribution of the packages was for a number of contract employees, cleaning service staff, security guards, gardeners, and lower-class civil servants in Unila Rectorate environment.

“The package contains sugar, flour, syrup, oil, and canned biscuits. Thank God, we can distribute more packages this year. Hopefully it can reduce their burden during this year’s fasting month,” he said.

Mahanani also added, KPA DWP Unila together with the Central DWP Sub-unit would do the distribution of basic needs and love for the poor in three places in Bandar Lampung, Bakung, Sinar Laut, and Pasar Kangkung. [PR Team]
