(Unila): The announcement of the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, marked a moment of profound gratitude for Rinita Irawati. The graduate of SMAN 1 Bandar Lampung has successfully gained admission to the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Lampung (Unila), realising a long-held aspiration.
Behind this success lies a lengthy process undertaken with diligence. Rinita not only focused on academic achievements but also actively participated in various non-academic activities at school, including basketball extracurriculars, while maintaining consistent academic performance.
Her interest in the field of medicine has been nurtured since childhood and has strengthened through personal experiences within her family. When her grandmother suffered a stroke, Rinita witnessed firsthand the critical role of medical professionals, which instilled in her the understanding that a doctor must not only master medical knowledge but also possess empathy and concern for patients.
“From that experience, I realised that patients require not only physical treatment but also psychological support,” Rinita stated.
This journey has not been without its challenges. Feelings of fatigue and pressure in her studies were often felt, particularly with concerns regarding the financial implications of pursuing a medical education. Nevertheless, Rinita endeavoured to manage these challenges by maintaining a balance between studying and resting, while remaining steadfast in her goals.
“I have experienced fatigue and doubt, especially due to financial constraints. However, I always remind myself of my objectives and the support of my parents,” she remarked.
The role of her family has been a primary source of strength throughout this journey. Her father, Bukhori, who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver, is known for his hard work and for instilling values of honesty and responsibility. Meanwhile, her mother, Isnaini, continues to provide moral support and prayers.
The values of discipline, responsibility, and gratitude taught to her from a young age have become guiding principles that have strengthened Rinita’s resolve to this day.
Upon receiving the news of her acceptance, a wave of gratitude and joy enveloped both her and her family. This moment serves as a testament to the fact that sincere efforts yield meaningful results.
“It feels like a significant achievement in my life. My family is very touched and proud,” she expressed.
The achievement not only brings personal happiness but also evokes deep emotion within her family. This accomplishment stands as proof that a dedicated process can lead to the desired outcomes.
As she embarks on a new chapter as a student at FK Unila, Rinita is committed to pursuing her education diligently and continuing her personal development. She aspires to become a competent medical professional capable of making a tangible contribution to society, particularly in the health sector of Lampung Province.
Amidst her achievements, Rinita also shares a message with students striving to realise their aspirations, serving as a reminder to remain resolute in facing every challenge.
“To my friends, stay motivated and do not give up. Trust the process, as every effort will surely bear fruit. Do not let limitations hinder your dreams,” she advised.
She hopes that the steps taken today will serve as a foundation for creating broader benefits in the future, while also inspiring more young generations to persevere, undeterred by constraints. [Gandhi Irawan]
