(Unila): Universitas Lampung (Unila) has successfully recorded a significant achievement in the realm of international education by obtaining accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).

The accreditation body, headquartered in Bonn, Germany, officially awarded quality certification to three of Unila’s distinguished study programmes through a decision made by the Accreditation and Certification Committee on 12 March 2025.

The three programmes that have attained the status of Accredited Programme are the Bachelor’s Programme in Sociology – Bachelor of Social Science (S.Sos), the Bachelor’s Programme in Law – Bachelor of Law (S.H.), and the Master’s Programme in Law – Master of Law (M.H.).

The Rector of Unila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., IPM., ASEAN Eng., expressed her appreciation to all parties involved in the quality standardisation process.

She stated that the achievement of international accreditation from FIBAA is a tangible manifestation of Unila’s commitment to continuously enhancing the quality of education.

This initiative forms part of our long-term strategy to ensure that our learning processes, curricula, and graduates possess competencies recognised at a global level.

“We will continue to strive to maintain these standards and comply with all stipulated requirements in order to provide the best educational services for society and the nation,” she remarked.

For students, this international accreditation offers assurance that the curriculum they pursue aligns with global professional standards, while also facilitating academic mobility at the international level. For the university, this opens up broader opportunities for collaboration with strategic partners worldwide.

According to the official documents issued by FIBAA, several key stipulations concerning the status of this international accreditation have been established. The accreditation certification for the Bachelor’s Programme in Sociology, Bachelor’s Programme in Law, and Master’s Programme in Law is deemed valid until 11 March 2030.

This recognition of quality is granted with the stipulation that three specific conditions or requirements must be fulfilled by the institution to ensure the sustainability of quality standards in the future.

All these stipulations were ratified through a resolution by the FIBAA Accreditation and Certification Committee on 12 March 2025 in Bonn, Germany, and were directly signed by the Executive Director of the organisation.

This success places Unila among the higher education institutions recognised for their quality across national borders. [Gandhi Irawan]
