(Unila): The Student Regiment (Menwa) Unit 201 Radin Inten of Lampung University (Unila) has officially appointed new leadership following the inauguration of Muhamad Ridho Jurihim as Commander during a ceremony held at the second floor of the Graha Kemahasiswaan building on Saturday, 7 March 2026.
This leadership transition is anticipated to serve as a pivotal moment for reinforcing the character of national defence among students and enhancing the organisation’s contributions to society.
Ridho Jurihim, a student of the Physical Education Study Programme from the 2023 cohort, will lead Menwa Unit 201 Radin Inten of Lampung University, supported by David Andika as Deputy Commander.
The new leadership is expected to encourage Menwa to become a platform for student development that emphasises not only discipline and leadership but also active engagement in social activities and community service.
The Ceremony Inspector, Sri Sulastuti, S.H., M.Hum., emphasised the necessity of instilling the values of national defence in young generations from an early age, including through student organisations such as Menwa.
“National defence is not solely the responsibility of defence personnel; it is an obligation for all citizens. It can be manifested through simple actions that have a significant impact,” she stated.
She argued that the cultivation of discipline through student organisations is an effective means of fostering a generation imbued with integrity and social responsibility.
“With strong discipline and high integrity, we not only build a commendable organisation but also contribute to the creation of a strong, dignified, and character-driven nation,” added Sri Sulastuti.
The Commander of the Raden Intan Student Regiment, AKBP Vicky Dzulkarnain, also remarked that the new leadership of Menwa Unila holds a crucial role in strengthening the national spirit among students while expanding the organisation’s contributions within the campus and the broader community.
“Leadership is a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility, integrity, and a sense of love for one another and for the institution,” he stated.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by leaders of Student Activity Units (UKM) within Unila, representatives from various Student Regiments across higher education institutions in Lampung Province, Chairman of the Lampung DPP IARMI Dr. Bustami Zainudin, and Commander of the Raden Intan Student Regiment AKBP Vicky Dzulkarnain.
