(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) held a Socialization and Launch of the 2026 National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB), on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Unila Multipurpose Building (GSG). The activity was opened by Unila Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM., ASEAN Eng.

The activity was attended by the Head of the Lampung Province Education Office, Thomas Amirico, S.STP., MH, the Heads of High Schools throughout Lampung Province, the Vice Rectors, Deans, the Vice Deans, Heads of Bureaus, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, and the Heads of Institutions within Unila.

The socialization and launch of the 2026 SNPMB aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the selection mechanism for state universities and introduce Unila to prospective students and education stakeholders.

In her remarks, the Rector emphasized that 2026 is a crucial year for students to advance to higher education. She conveyed Unila’s commitment to implementing a PROACTIVE (Professional, Accountable, Transparent, and Informative) new student selection process.

According to her, the launch of the SNPMB aim to provide as comprehensive information as possible regarding the 2026 new student admission process as well as an introduction to the Unila campus environment, so that students have no doubts in determining their future choices.

The Rector also conveyed a message to the students to not only view the University of Lampung as a place to study, but as a space to forge character, innovation, and build networks to become future leaders and competitive entrepreneurs.

To the teachers and the Head of the Education Office, the Chancellor conveyed a message that the process of assisting students in the registration and registration of SNBP which began that day was carried out with full care, because the success of students is a shared success in increasing the participation rate of higher education in Lampung Province.

The Rector emphasized that Unila continues to improve by upgrading facilities and strengthening international accreditation as a form of readiness to welcome the best talents from various schools.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lampung Provincial Education Office, Thomas Amirico, S.STP., MH, expressed his hope that more sons and daughters of Lampung would be accepted at Unila through the achievement pathway.

He emphasized the importance of changing mindsets and strategies in mentoring students, through mapping potential and competencies based on the value standards of each student, so that they realistically understand the chances of graduating and do not force choices that do not match their academic abilities.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Lampung Provincial Education Office also highlighted efforts to improve teacher quality. He stated that improving learning quality is not only achieved through tutoring but also through collaboration with universities.

His party has requested the Rector of Unila to allow students who are carrying out PKL to assist the learning process at 35 leading schools, particularly in improving learning designs so that teachers become more competitive and the quality of education in Lampung Province continues to improve.

Adding to this, the Rector of Unila explained that in addition to direct outreach, Unila also prepared various forms of support to welcome prospective new students.

Unila assigned the Vice Rector, Deans, and the socialization team to reach all districts and cities in Lampung Province, even to South Sumatra, West Sumatra, and West Java, considering that prospective Unila students do not only come from Lampung Province.

The Rector also emphasized that in collaboration with the Lampung Provincial Education Office, Unila is involving the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). FKIP students will be deployed to various schools across Lampung Province to help students learn more actively through internships. This is not to replace teachers, but to strengthen the learning process and provide academic support to students.

Through this outreach and launch of the National Admissions Standards (SNPMB), Unila hopes that students, teachers, and education stakeholders will gain a comprehensive understanding of the state university entrance selection process and become more confident in making Unila their primary choice for pursuing higher education.
