(Unila): Rector of the University of Lampung (Unila) welcomed the work visit of leadership of the University of Muhammadiyah Lampung (UML) in the senate room on the 2nd floor of Rectorate Building, Tuesday (05/14/2019).
The meeting was attended by a number of UML officials starting from the rector, vice rectors 1, 2, and 3, staff, representatives of the management body for admission of new students, heads of public bureaus, public relations and protocols, and representatives of cooperation division.
Rector of Muhammadiyah Lampung University Dr. Dalman, M.Pd., conveyed that this meeting was intended to discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two parties. One of them was related to institutional accreditation.
“I want UML to emulate the University of Lampung, to imitate Unila’s accreditation, which is now A. Previously UML was under Unila guidance until finally it achieved an accreditation of B,” he said.
In addition to accreditation, Dalman hoped an increase in the number of students. He expected, prospective students who failed to enter Unila could be recommended to register at UML. Of course, with the same study program and accreditation.
Responding to this, Rector of the University of Lampung, Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, stated that to achieve A accreditation Unila had developed a number of facilities, infrastructure, and quality improvements.
The University of Lampung has now transformed from a green campus into a green-metric campus. This was strengthened by the plan to build six lakes around the campus area.
Unila has also started investing to build campus II, which is planned to resemble smart campus. “To fix that, we will continue to develop the IT field. Because it plays a vital role for modernization,” he concluded.
In addition to some of these things, Hasriadi explained a number of efforts to improve quality assurance. According to him, in Unila there are currently many study programs that have A accreditations, some have even been internationally accredited.
So on that visit Hasriadi openly welcomed UML to conduct a comparative study with Unila. This is as UML brainstorming material in the field of IT, research, international journals, and improvement of institutional quality.
“UML new student admission body can visit directly the Unila’s new student admissions body to discuss more technical details of implementation in the field,” he added. [PR Team]
