(Unila): University of Lampung (Unila) received an honour to be the Host of Cooperation Agreement Signatory between Unila, Sumatra Technology Institute (Itera), and State Polytechnic of Lampung (Polinela).
The agreement is focused on regional development in three consortium involved by Asian Development Bank (ADB). This event was held in Unila Main Hall, Rectorat Building 2nd floor , Tuesday (08/01/2019).
Rector of University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., said that Team of Asian Development Bank had visited Lampung before. In their last visit, they mandated that Unila, Itera, and Polinela should create a united development project inter-campuses as well as advance the regional potential.
Each campus will build a team for discussing the plan intensively. Research will be begun from upstream to downstream, as for example Unila is currently focus on Agromedicine and tropical disease in Agroindustry.
“Itera will be best in technology, which will suit for the downstream area of Agroindustry. Meanwhile, Polinela will be best contribute in the execution process as its background as a vocational campus,” said Hasriadi.
However, Rector of Itera, Prof. Ofyar Z. Tamin, stated that this cooperation signatory is merely a beginning of the three consortium project involved by ADB. He expected that this cooperation will be facilitated by a good coordination inter-campuses so that there will nothing overlap one another.
“Therefore, this cooperation must ensure a sinergized work among the campuses in order to avoid redundancy. What have been done by Unila will be a main input for Itera, so does Polinela to Itera,” said him.
The same thought was expressed by the Director of Polinela, Dr. Ir. Sarono, M.Sc. According to him, the essential of this cooperation is to complement each other. “Unila and Itera should concern on the process, while Polinela will focus on the product development”.[Humas]
