(Unila): Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the University of Lampung held the 2nd International Conference on Applied Sciences, Mathematics and Informatics (ICASMI-2018) at Horison Hotel, Bandarlampung for three days from Thursday to Saturday (9-11 August, 2018).
This conference presents the latest developments from research results or discoveries in the fields of Sciences, Mathematics, and Informatics, as well as various applications from various fields of study. The results of the communication and discussion obtained at this conference are further believed to be able to increase the strength of the local potential possessed by the local community.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. H. Bujang Rahman, M.Sc., who opened the conference said that the International Seminar of ICASMI was the beginning activity of the 53rd University Dies Natalis, which will be commemorated on September 23, 2018, where the MIPA Faculty become the organizer of the event. He expected that ICASMI activities can strengthen the potency of Lampung and Indonesia in the global world, especially in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).
ICASMI is an annual international scientific conference to provide a forum for the exchange and updating of research and innovation results for lecturers, students and researchers in the fields of science and applied science both nationally and internationally. ICASMI is also expected to become the forum for interaction and collaboration for researchers, lecturers, undergraduates and postgraduates students, as well as researchers across disciplines, across institutions, and across countries, as a place of communication and collaboration for researchers, especially in the fields of science, mathematics, and computer.
The theme for the ICASMI 2018 was “The Contribution of Science on Sustainable Valorization on Natural Resources”. Prof. Warsito, S.Si, DEA., Ph.D., the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences stated that ICASMI activities presented 8 main speakers from 4 countries with fields of science who also had collaboration with FMIPA Unila. They are Prof. Ponnadurai Ramasami (University of Mauritius); Prof. Celestin C. Kokonendji (University of Bourgogne Franche-Comte, France); Prof. Savitree Limtong (Kasetsart University, Thailand); Prof. Teddy Mantoro (Sampoerna University, Indonesia). Next Prof. Khairurrijal (Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia); Prof. Wannapong Triampo (Mahidol University, Thailand); Prof. Sutopo Hadi (University of Lampung, Indonesia); Drajat Sulistyo, S.T., (General Manager – PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II Lampung-Indonesia). The conference was attended by 150 participants from 6 countries.
One of the committee member Dr. Junaidi, explained that the paper acceptance system was done by using the Open-Access Conference System (OCS). First, participants access the ICASMI website, which is https://icasmi.fmipa.unila.ac.id/ then register the abstract paper on the edas page with the address https://edas.info/N24705 by creating an edas account first. Abstracts received by the committee will be selected by the reviewer team. Furthermore, the abstract that passes for the seminar will be informed through each participant’s email account.
After the conference, participants must submit a full paper (full paper) to the edas page. Furthermore, the incoming papers will be reviewed by the internal reviewer team including writing format, content, similarity, plagiarism, and others. Then, the reviewer team will send back the paper that has been reviewed to the edas page so that the participants can correct it. After being revised, participants must upload the paper back to the edas page. The selected paper will be published in the Thomson Reuters Index (ISI) International Journal, the Lahore Journal of International Science. Non-selected papers in the journal above will be published in the International Proceedings of Knowledge E which have been indexed by Scopus (elsevier), Thomson Reuters (ISI), Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), Repository of Open Access Resources (ROAJ).[Humas]
