(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) held a Ramadan safari “Mental and Spiritual Development in the Month of Ramadan for Educational Personnel in the University of Lampung Rectorate Environment in 2026”, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The activity was held in the Inauguration Room, fourth floor, Unila Rectorate.
The event was attended by Unila Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Chairperson and Secretary of the Senate, Vice Rectors, Chairperson and Secretary of the Internal Supervisory Unit, Deans and Directors of Postgraduate Studies, Heads of Bureaus, Heads and Secretaries of Institutions, Vice Deans and Vice Directors of Postgraduate Studies, and a number of campus officials within Unila.
The event began with a recitation of the holy Quran by Robidin, SIKom., followed by remarks from the Rector, represented by Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman, M.Si. The event aimed to strengthen ties and enhance faith and piety during Ramadan.
In her remarks, Prof. Abdurrahman conveyed the message from the Rector of Unila to always be enthusiastic and maximize performance during the month of Ramadan. This activity had two agendas: the socialization of the Unila Zakat Recipient Unit (UPZ) by Prof. Dr. Wan Abbas Zakaria, MS, and the main event, namely a cultum and joint prayer delivered by Ustaz Dr. H. Arfandi, LC., MA.
In his presentation, Prof. Wan Abbaz said that UPZ Unila is present as a zakat management forum to help those in need, especially within the academic community.
The main programs of UPZ Unila include outreach through media and direct engagement with the audience, Student volunteers also play a role in identifying needs to ensure zakat distribution is effective and on target, including assistance with Single Tuition Fees (UKT), living expenses, and business empowerment programs for beneficiaries within Unila.
Continuing with the presentation of tausiah on the theme of Ramadan, Ustaz Arfandi conveyed that Ramadan is a month full of blessings and momentum for Muslims to increase their faith and piety to Allah subhanahu wa taala .
Ramadan brings beauty, kindness, and compassion, manifested through various activities, one of which is the gathering of people to break the fast together. Furthermore, Ramadan is also known as the month of education and training, playing a crucial role in developing better individuals and noble morals.
The event concluded with a communal prayer, expressing gratitude and the hope that the entire series of events would bring blessings and benefits to all attendees. [Muzamil Kakar]
