(Unila): Faculty of Engineering (FT) of the University of Lampung conducted National Seminar on Technology and Innovation 2019, Wednesday (4/24/2019). This event was collaboration result with the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) Unila.
This first national seminar by FT invited 56 participants came from Yogyakarta, Makassar, and Lampung. The event aimed to increase public insight and income.
Dr. Ir. Sri Ratna Sulistiyanti, M.T., as the chairperson, said that the selected articles of this National Seminar would be published in the “Senapati” proceedings with ISSN. Those selected articles will also be issued in Sakay Sambayan Journal owned by Unila.
Furthermore, this kind of seminar will be an annual agenda of FT Unila. The National Seminar 2019 presented the national reviewers as the presenters, Dr. Ing. Sihana and Dr. Dyah Kusuma Astuti. The speakers have been expertise in this field for 15 years both at the national and international levels.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Bujang Rahman, in his remarks, said, “This national seminar is very imperative because the nation has currently encountered the challenging conditions that need to be managed properly to avoid polemic on the development of human civilization.
For example, in the industrial revolution 4.0, human life can no longer be separated from technology. Almost all humans now use technology. However, on the other hand, technology may cause the degradation of human values.”
He gave an example of inseparable with technology on campus if the campus electricity went out or the LCD projector did not function, 60% of the lectures had to be stopped because of heat or not conducive.
Technology and innovation like two-sides of a coin because technology without innovation will make civilization slower. By combining both of them, it will make the approach more accelerative.
Finally, Prof. Bujang hoped that the two speakers would be able to share their knowledge to all participants so that they can provide even better innovations. [PR Team]
