(Unila): UPT of the University of Lampung Library (Unila) obtained a digital library grant and e-book contents from PT Enam Kubuku Jogjakarta worth Rp153.75 million.
The grant was launched by Rector of Unila Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., in the main meeting room on the 2nd floor of Rectorate Building on Wednesday (05/08/2019). The giving of the grant was also attended by Director of PT Enam Kubuku Jogjakarta Drs. Josep Edyanto, S.E., and staff.
Chairperson of Unila Library Unit Dr. Mardiana said, this application is intended for the central library and reading rooms in faculties and study programs on the campus. The content of selected grants includes subjects and categories from eight faculties at Unila. From the selection, there are around 200 titles and 1,203 copies. “The copies refer to the number of copies that can be accessed and read at one time by the digital library users,” he explained.
The management of the digital library application will be done by the Unila Library Unit, while the contents related to the subjects and categories of study program can be done together with the reading room manager in each faculty.
Mardiana added, the Library UPT had budgeted the addition of electronic and print contents to add the collection. He hopes that the application can facilitate all students’ needs related to research and learning.
Downloading the Unila digital library can be done via PC and Android at https://kubuku.id/download/universitas-lampung/link. After downloading the software, the user completes the identity to register as a user. Then the registered e-mail will receive a registration notification.
Prof. Hasriadi revealed, the library became one of the sources of knowledge that Unila would develop. For this reason, he will develop a library to become an information resource institution. “We will also build a building to better describe the library in the era 4.0,” he concluded.
In addition to adding to the digital library collection, Hasriadi wants to make the service more optimal. All library activities of Unila will be equipped with information services that will be developed not only locally but also nationally. Dikti is currently working with national libraries and 110 universities in Indonesia. It will become a library network so that each public university can access each other digitally.
In this event, a digital library simulation was also conducted, led directly by Josep Edyanto. Seen in the simulation, a number of digital library content was quoted by copying to Ms. Word to make it easier for users when creating a bibliography. In addition, every registered user can log in to a digital e-book so that it is easier when searching for exam materials.[PR Team]
