(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) through the Faculty of Engineering (FT) held the 2019 National Seminar on Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Institute for Community Service and Research (LPPM), Wednesday (04/24/2019).
The first national seminar invited 56 presenters. They came from Yogyakarta, Makassar and Lampung. The event was held to increase people’s income and insight.
Dr. Ir. Sri Ratna Sulistiyanti, M.T., the chief executive said, the articles submitted to the national seminar will be included and published in “Senapati” proceedings. The event will be scheduled every year by FT Unila. Selected articles will be included in Journal of Sakay Sambayan published by the University of Lampung.
The event was also attended by national reviewers as keynote speakers, Dr. Ing. Sihana and Dr. Dyah Kusuma Astuti. In addition to being considered highly competent in the field of technological community service and innovation, the resource persons have been in this field for 15 years, in regional, national and international levels.
Prof. Bujang Rahman said, this national seminar is very strategic because at this time the nation is being faced with serious conditions and if they are not well managed, they would be a polemic on the development of human civilization.
For example, in the 4.0 industrial revolution, human life can no longer be separated from technology. Almost all humans now use technology. But on the other hand, there are concerns that technology has resulted in the degradation of human values. In other words, humans are manipulated by technology.
The former Dean of FKIP Unila also stated his thoughts to the presenters. He gave an example, if campus electricity is off or the LCD projector does not function well then 60% of the lectures must be stopped. The heat and not conducive atmosphere for studying are reasons we are inseparable from technology.
Technology and innovation cannot be separated because technology without innovation will make civilization develop more slowly. But if the two are combined it will make the approach more accelerative. Prof. Bujang hopes that the two speakers can share their knowledge with the presenters so as to provide better innovation.
