(Unila): Culture has closest relationship to society. It is something that deliberately or not will affect the knowledge level and thought systems of each individual.
Various influences that come from foreign culture allow cultural shocks. The community, however, may not be able to hold out and filter various impacts of foreign culture so that it calls an imbalance in social life.
“The diversity of cultural values can possibly be a filter for foreign influence, which currently erodes the purity of the ideological understanding of the nation.
The cultural shock, then, remains to be overcomed by realizing the socio-cultural values and diversity so that it becomes a filter of foreign culture influence and ideological disorientation.
These were stated by Vice Rector of the University of Lampung for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Karomani, M.Si., when he became the speaker for an interactive dialogue entitled “Dialogue on Diversity in 2019”.
The event, which was attended by numbers of ethnic representatives in Indonesia, was held by the The Regency Government of Tanggamus at the GSG Islamic Center, Kota Agung, Monday (03/18/2019).
In the event entitled “Establishing Tanggamus by Bounding Diversity and Strengthening Nation’s Unity”.
Karomani revealed, diversity plays a fundamental part of Indonesian. “The diversity of cultural values can possibly be a filter for foreign influence, which currently erodes the purity of the ideological understanding of the nation,” he said.
In addition, he explained, many parties wishes to sue the nation ideology which eventually lead to disorientation of comprehension.
Whereas the national goals that are set forth in The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia are the result of the hard work by the founders and scholars in formulating the most appropriate constitution for this country.
On the same occasion, the Regent of Tanggamus Dewi Handajani, described the purpose of carrying out the activity. One of them was to capture the aspirations of the community in the issue of diversity while helping the Tanggamus Regency to find out the resolution regarding some social conflicts in the regency.
Dewi added, the enthusiasm to advance the Regency of Tanggamus can be begun by bounding our national unity. Besides, ideas and innovations from various ethnic groups. point of views are able to be implemented through establishing the Regency of Tanggamus Bhineka Tunggal Ika Communication Forum.
“Indonesia has the same goal. Let us eliminate the barriers, unite our hearts, thoughts, visions, and missions because what has been produced so far is the result of the struggle of all components of the nation,” she concluded.[PR Team]
