(Unila): University of Lampung through UPT Perpustakaan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Higher Education Library Forum (FPPTI) dan The Association of Bachelor of Library Science and Information (ISIPII).

The signing of MoU made by the Head of FPPTI, Imam Budi Prasetiawan, S.S., M.I.Kom., and the President of ISIPII, Farli Elnumeri, S.S., M.Hum., as well as Rector of University of Lampung, Prof. Dr. Hasriadi Mat AkIn, M.P. The agenda was held in Unila Library Hall 3rd floor, Monday (18/02/2019).

Hasriadi said, “Library has a vital function in this industrial revolution era 4.0. It plays essential roles not only as a place to find sources but also as a window for inspiration seekers.

This Professor of Faculty of Agriculture Unila, however, appreciated the donation of 25 million books for Unila Library. During his period, Unila Library has shown a gradual improvement of digital-based quality “We are committed to augment the facilities as our target involves learning quality in library and laboratorium,” explained him.

On the same occasion, Budi Prasetiawan added, the result of National Librarian Meeting Rakernas last year, Lampung was appointed as a Host of Seminar and National Meeting for Librarian. By conducting MoU, it is hoped that there will be more advanced cooperations between Unila and FPPTI.

Meanwhile, The President of ISIPII, Farli Elnumeri clarified, by a highly demand of a fast data access need in this era of 4.0, it vastly requires many qualified human resources of bachelor of library science.

He advised Unila to open a major for Bachelor of Library Science as to shape professional librarians for nation. Farli added that library science is a crucial knowledge for data and information management of library.
