(Unila): The workshop on “Dissemination and Preparation of HR for Preventing and Facing Disasters”, was held at ruang sidang, 2nd floor Rectorate Building.
In his introduction, the vice rector for academic affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bujang Rahman, M. Sc., said, “There are many potential disasters that occur in Indonesia. But there are some disasters that can be anticipated. Disaster itself is divided into two forms; nature and social (caused by humans) “.
“Throughout 2018, there were 18 disasters in Lampung. We include living in disaster-prone countries, if we do not respond properly, we cannot survive. Reflecting on the occurrence of disasters that occur in many regions, most of the victims who fall are not due to disaster, but because they are wrong in responding to the disaster, “he said.
Prof. Bujang also said that, Unila needed to hold Safety Management program. “Unila has been included in 6 ACP (Asian Coooperative Program) countries consisting of many universities and led by Kansai University (Japan)”. The 6 countries are; Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Myanmar, and Indonesia.
He also hoped that, “Today is a momentum where Unila raises this activity as an important internal issue to become a main program, in the form of provisions that are our contribution to society. To support this program, Unila needs to prepare itself by conducting research, service, making disaster plans, and collaborating with BNPB and BNP2TK and many other approaches academically.
The next session was panel discussion which discussed the Aspects of Safety Management from various disciplines (Engineering, Industry, Laboratory, Health, Education, and Psychology).[Humas]
