(Unila): The University of Lampung welcomed visit from Students Get to Know the Archipelago (SMN) from North Maluku, on Friday (8/16/2019), in Rectorate Meeting Hall floor 4th.

In this visit, the SMN group of North Maluku were consisted of 30 senior high school and vocational high school students, students with disabilities, and the advisers. They were part of program, namely State-Owned Enterprises for Nation (BHUN). The advisers of the program were the Corporate Secretary of PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), Toha Muzaqi, and the Head of the PKBL Division, Fitriani.

The Vice-Rector for PK-TIK Affairs, Prof. Mahatma Kufepaksi, welcomed their arrival. Several heads of division and subdivision of Unila also attended the welcome ceremony, such as Head of Information and Public Relations Division, Suratno, S.Pd., M.H., Head of Public Relations Subdivision, M. Badrul Huda, S.I.Kom.; and also Head of Registration and Statistics Subdivision Unila, Ainul Hudzni, S.I.Kom., M.I.P.

In his remarks, Prof. Mahatma Kufepaksi introduced the profile of the University of Lampung. Starting from the year of establishment, land area, developments in several periods, accreditation, achievements, vision and mission, and also Unila transformation from teaching university to research university.

“Unila considers that research position as vital as teaching activity because the results of the research will be used as teaching material following the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education,” he said.

On that occasion, Toha Muzaqi thanked and appreciated the warm welcome by Unila. He also was mesmerized by the various achievements of Unila. Regarding the program, Toha explained that SMN Program was an annual agenda
initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Entreprises (SOEs) since 2015.

Through the SMN program in 32 provinces throughout Indonesia, we hope that the presence of SOEs’ real contribution to the community will be more worthwhile. Also, we hope that this current program may invite the students from North Maluku to get to know about the culture, education, and tourism potential in Lampung. The experience that will trigger them to be more motivated to advance the nation.

“We will have roadshow for the next ten days in some areas in Lampung. Hopefully, this visit will result in deep insight, experience, and knowledge that beneficial for the students,” added Toha.[PR Team]
