(Unila): The 2024 Regional Student Arts Week (Peksimida) event ended and closed Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Malahayati University. The event, which started on June 25, 2024, successfully brought Unila with the champion of this year’s Peksimida.

This routine agenda, which is held every two years, was attended by 11 universities in Lampung Province with 21 competition categories.

The competition aims to encourage local sons and daughters to show their best talents in the arts. This year, Unila was trusted to host the playwriting, poetry writing, short story writing, and social campaign media design competitions.

Unila also sent several students to take part in various competitions. Unila had the highest point than the other universities and was appointed the champion with 12 medals due to the students’ extensive training and hard work.

The gold medals were collected from a number of competitions, such as dance, monologue, poetry writing, and script writing. The silver medals were achieved from men’s poetry reading, men’s pop music, women’s Keroncong solo, painting, and short story writing, while the bronze medals were collected men’s dangdut solo, comic strip, and journalistic photography.

The event was closed by Vice Rector III of Unila as well as the Chair of the Indonesian Student Arts Advisory Board (BPSMI) of Lampung Province, Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, hopping that the students winning the competition need to bring glory to the province of Lampung on the national stage since the champions no longer carry the name of their respective campuses, but the province of Lampung.

Dr. Anna also thanked all colleagues who supported and enlivened this event, so that it was able to produce winners who became the best sons and daughters of the region to represent Lampung Province. [PR Team]
