(Unila): The accountingable team of five students i.e, Rendynothe Yuranda, Donny Christian, Hirda Rakastina Putri Nabilla, Dwi Raphelanda, and Ranti Irjayani from Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) the University of Lampung (Unila) was granted the first champion in a prestigious international accounting competition (IAC) 2021 held by Binus University.

The event attended by 24 teams or 135 participants spent for three days, Friday-Sunday (June 25-27, 2021). It presented experts of accounting from Binus University, and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC).

The team leader, Rendynothe Yuranda said that although their team was established few days ahead of the competition, he was grateful that the team managed to achieve a remarkable accomplishment.

At the very beginning, he admitted that the team found it hard to pay more attention on the competition due mainly to the limited time to prepare the competition. Every single member of the team needed to be well prepared and confident to accomplish the competition.

According to him, participants in the IAC 2021 event got a lot of knowledge and insights of accounting besides exciting and challenging games and competitions.

On the first day, June 25, 2021, participants joined a Talk 1 session with the theme “Audit during Covid-19“, followed by a cash flow game to improve participants’ skills in managing finances and making decisions. Then Talk 2 was about “Cash flow analysis during Covid-19“, followed by by a brain game. The first day was summed up by a sharing session.

The second day, June 26, 2021, discussed about Talk 3 themed “Sustainability accounting and professional accountants“, and then followed by Talk 4 titled “Transfer pricing.” The entire teams were to participate in a case study and business pitching that every single team was scheduled to submit their answers to the case provided on June 22, 2021.

The presentation spent approximately 20 minutes, and the participants were required to address the questions from the jury in 10 minutes.

The third day, June 27, 2021, was the summit event, taking the forms of  sharing sessions, presenting cultural dance videos, and an announcement of the best three TikTok video competition, as well as the 2021 IAC champions.

Finally, the Accountingble team was declared the champion of the prestigious competition, followed by the Aphrodite team, and the U2H team, in the second  and the third places respectively.

Widya Rizki Eka, the Unila team guidance lecturer, was very proud of remarkable achievement made by his students, defeating students from the top 10  universities across Indonesia. [PR Team]
