(Unila): The student exchange program is a golden opportunity for Indonesian students to develop themselves and gain insight abroad.

The Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA), which is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s (Kemdikbudristek) Independent Campus program, is one of the most prominent programs.

The IISMA program provides financial support to Indonesian students who desire to participate in an international mobility program at the world’s top universities and corporations. This year, one thousand Indonesian students passed the selection and were awarded IISMA scholarships.

Abdurrahman R. Pratamasyah, a third year student majoring in Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lampung (Unila), is one of the students eligible for the program. Tama, as he is affectionately called, is scheduled to study for onesemester from August to December 2023at Arizona State University, the United States of America,

It was the second time for Tama to enroll the IISMA program after his failure in the last year’s selection. He was interested in the IISMA program due to his desires to study abroad and to have friends with diverse cultures from different countries.

The United States was chosen as his destination due to his interest in film as well so that he has a good chance to learn from the largest film industry in the world.

He was thrilled and appreciative to have passed the IISMA program this year. This has been a longtime goal of his. This would be a good chance for him to learn a great deal there and bring back beneficial contribution for Indonesia.

He encourages Unila students to follow his step to enroll in this program as the program is a valuable opportunity for students, allowing them to study in an international level.

This program facilitates Unila students to expand their social and academic networks and to participate in a multicultural learning environment, gaining a deeper understanding of culture, and enhancing their cross-cultural communication skills.

Tama and with eleven other Indonesian students are scheduled to pursue their study at Arizona State University and complete the IISMA programs. In addition to online activities, activities such as, cultural festivals and article writing should be conducted offline. [PR Team]
