(Unila): University of Lampung (Unila) receives scholarship up to IDR 600 million from Indonesia Bank (BI) that allocated to 50 Unila students who have passed the selection process. The symbolic handover ceremony was carried out by the Head of Indonesia Bank Branch Lampung, Budiharto Setyawan to Unila Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Karomani, M.Sc., in the Auditorium of the BI Office Branch Lampung on 4thfloor, Friday (6/28/2019).

BI scholarships, then, soon will be given to Unila regular undergraduate students who have academic achievements and good social community experience from the middle-low income of family backgrounds. Budiharto conveyed BI with the spirit of dedication for the nation is committed to persistently contribute, empathize, and care to overcome social, economic, and educational problems.

Besides, BI Scholarship Program is the manifestation of BI active role in improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia, especially students. Scholarships, moreover, can be used to support tuition fees, leave benefits, and even for their living expenses. The awardees, then, are subject to the Indonesian New Generation (Genbi), the community built since 2012.

The distribution of the scholarship program has been carried out by BI Branch Lampung Province through cooperation with some universities and colleges in Lampung Province such as Unila, UIN Raden Intan, Itera, UBL, and IAIN Metro. “Every year we will provide scholarships to 50 students about Rp1 million each per month, which can be taken twice a year,” Budi added.

Our scholarships are a form of investment in the nation’s success through students’ achievements. The awardees, then, are expected to be able to beat the challenges ahead with their achievements. “Therefore, the awardees’ achievement index is always be maintained. If the IP goes down, we apologize to cease the scholarship,” he concluded.

Head of Genbi Lampung, Muhammad Rio, added, BI in addition to providing scholarships also facilitates Genbi 2019 by Leadership Camp Program.
