(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) held a socialization of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) master’s program in Tulang Bawang (Tuba) Regency, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

The activity was also attended by the Rector of Unila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Eng. Suripto Dwi Yuwono, MT, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. dr. Evi Kurniawaty, S.Ked., M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Dr. Eng. Heri Satria, S.Si., M.Si., Regent of Tulang Bawang Drms Qudrotul Ikhwan, MM, Regional Secretary Ir. Ferli Yuledi, MT, along with staff in the Tulang Bawang Regency.

In her remarks, the Rector said that Unila is currently preparing for new student admissions (PMB) in 2026 through various channels, one of which is RPL which is aimed at undergraduates (S-1) who wish to continue to the master’s level (S-2).

RPL type A recognizes a person’s minimum work experience of five years (linear) or seven years (non-linear) as a basis for continuing formal education at Unila (Unila’s Master’s/Master’s program). The number of credits recognized is 50 to 70% of the total credit load of the Master’s program, with a study period of two to three semesters.

The Regent of Tulang Bawang welcomed the RPL master’s program organized by Unila. He stated that this program plays a strategic role in improving the quality and competence of human resources within regional officials and professionals, thus supporting the planning and implementation of development policies based on local potential.

Strengthening human resource capacity is considered a key factor in accelerating the implementation of the blue economy project currently being developed in Tulang Bawang Regency so that it runs sustainably and is competitive.

The socialization material for this activity was delivered by Prof. Suripto, who comprehensively explained the RPL implementation mechanism, registration stages and timeline, as well as study programs opened for the master’s program (S-2).

In addition, various advantages of the RPL master’s program were also presented as an educational scheme designed to provide recognition for professional experience, thus enabling participants to undertake master’s studies more effectively and efficiently without compromising academic quality.

Through this outreach activity, Unila hopes that the RPL master’s program can provide a solution for professionals in Tulang Bawang Regency to continue their education to the master’s level, while also strengthening the quality of the region’s human resources to support sustainable development.[Muzamil Kakar]
