(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) and the City Government (Pemkot) of Metro signed a memorandum of understanding on regional development cooperation. The agenda took place in the Metro City Government Meeting Hall on Friday (03/15/2019).

Rector of Unila. Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, said, Unila as the oldest and largest campus in Lampung is a joint asset that can be harnessed to build regional development.

Hasriadi said, the established cooperation in the memorandum of understanding is the realization of Unila endeavour as well as encourage Metro City as an education city. In addition, as an educational institution that is currently become one of the top universities in the national level, Unila is actively committed to realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

This Professor of Agriculture of Unila also offers various majors both master and doctoral degree for officials in Pemkot Metro. The offer is made to increase their level of education at the University of Lampung.

“This cooperation is a featured colaboration. Whereas Unila expertise and reputation as one of prominent universities at the national level made Unila be able to actively synergize with Governmental Institution especially Metro in focusing on regional development,” he said.

Meanwhile, The Mayor of Metro, Ahmad Pairin, revealed, the basic purpose of this cooperation is concerning an integration of regional development as to nurture the human resources in Metro City.

The scope of cooperation, is regarding regional planning, infrastructure development, income, as well as human resources. Pairin added, Metro City with the predicate as education city, is committed to keep providing convenience and safety for the society.

During his remarks, he also thanked for the ratification of this memorandum of understanding. “The people of Metro City currently realize the essential need of higher education,” he enclosed. [PR Team]
