(Unila): Lampung Provincial Government held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) related to the implementation of the RPJMD, at the University of Lampung (Unila). The activity took place in Rectorate Meeting Hall, Wednesday (07/17/2019).

The Rector of Unila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Bujang Rahman, M.Sc., along with Head of Bapedda Lampung, Herlina Warganegara, S.E., M.M., and Unila academic community attended the discussion.

Herlina said that the RPJMD (Regional Medium-Term Development Plan) has currently attained the initial design stage. Then, it will be submitted to the Lampung Province DPRD to get agreement soon.

In order to get the best result, Herlina continued, it requires innovative ideas through this FGD as to produce the most suitable recommendations for the Government of Lampung Province.

Herliana also explained, this FGD will discuss the issue in upgrading the quality of human resources (HR) and developing the protection for women, children, and people with disabilities in Lampung.

Moreover, Hasriadi revealed, it is honored to be invited by Lampung Provincial Government since, an educational institution, Unila has long been committed to liven up the quality of human resources.

“The issue of gender and women is a vital problem as well as being the public spotlight. As academics, we try to provide input to the Lampung Government through this activity,” he appealed.

Hasriadi also added that Unila has a mission to assist and overcome poverty through education. Unila currently has 2,000 students who get free payment for their education. Overall these students are coming from underprivileged families from all over Lampung Province.

Hasriadi then hopes that the Lampung Provincial Government answers this problem by creating several programs that can eradicate poverty through education quality advancement.

“As an HR developer, Unila has already set various facilities, especially for people with disabilities. Hopefully, this FGD can solve the existing problems and present guidelines in the formation of the RPJMD,” he enclosed. [PR Team]
