(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) affirmed its commitment to play role in addressing real community problems through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the XXI/Radin Inten Military Command and the Lampung Province Library and Archives Service, which was combined with the launch of the Centurion-21 Application and the Regional Military Commander Report, at the Emersia Hotel, Bandar Lampung, Thursday, January 29, 2026.

This collaboration is a concrete step by Unila to provide a direct impact in the food security sector, strengthening human resources, and developing national defense character, which directly touches the needs of the community.

For Unila, this collaboration is not merely an institutional agenda, but a bridge between the academic world and the real needs of society.

Unila views food security as an inseparable part of national resilience, so this collaboration is directed at producing concrete programs such as the development of applied agricultural research, food technology innovation, village community assistance, and optimization of local land and resources.

All of these programs are directly aimed at supporting food independence, farmer welfare, and national food sustainability, particularly in Lampung Province.

Unila Rector. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, DEA, IPM., ASEAN Eng., said that this collaboration is an important momentum to unite the strengths of universities, defense institutions, and strategic partners in facing increasingly complex national development challenges.

“This collaboration isn’t just a mere signature on a piece of paper. It’s a joint effort to address real community issues, from food security and human resource quality to character development for the younger generation. Unila is ready to be directly involved through research, innovation, community mentoring, and community service programs that truly benefit the people,” he said.

In addition to the food sector, this collaboration is also aimed at strengthening the values of national defense among the younger generation and academic community.

Unila together with the TNI bears a shared responsibility in instilling national insight, nationalism, discipline, and a spirit of devotion to the country, as a foundation for building human resources who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also strong in character and national morals.

From the regional defense perspective, Commander of the XXII/Radin Inten Military command, Major General TNI Kristomei Sianturi, S.Sos., M.Si.(Han)., emphasized that the nation’s strength is not built by one institution alone.

“Regional resilience cannot be achieved alone. It must be built together, with trust and collaboration. If the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), universities, the government, and the community work together, national resilience will grow stronger from the ground up,” he said.

According to him, cooperation with Unila is an important part of building a regional defense system based on collaboration, knowledge, and community participation.

Through the launch of Centurion-21 and Lapor Pangdam, this synergy is also strengthened by a digital system that accelerates communication, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

This collaboration is explicitly aimed at the people of Lampung, particularly farmers, young people, academics, and village communities, as the program’s primary beneficiaries. [Muzamil Kakar]
