(Unila): Being committed in providing international teaching experience, University of Lampung is currently ready for an international class in collaboration with the University of Zagreb and Vern University, Croatia.

The Head of Committee of Joint Summer School 2019, Dr. Ari Darmastuti, explained, this program is a part of the cooperation that has been built since the last couple of years. A number of activities have been carried out in Croatia, including conducting lectures and seminars at the Croatian Defense Academy.

Ari conveyed that this collaboration was officially initiated by the Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding in Unila Rectorate Meeting Hall on Monday (6/24/2019). The signing ceremony was honourly perceived by The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Nebojsa Koharovic.

In addition, she revealed that, “This international class contains of 12 courses with 12 lecturers. Altogether, there are 328 participants who join in this program. 17 delegates come from the University of Zagreb and Vern University of Croatia. They consist of 12 professors and 5 master students from both universities. Meanwhile, the other participants come from national universities, such as Brawijaya, Serang, Lampung, Jember, Banten, and Tirtayasa.

Furthermore, they will be divided up into some classes. The number of each class will vary from 15 to 35 participants.This Joint Summer School 2019 will also organize a stadium general and international seminar. So, there are totally three main activities.

Then, Ari added, in this international class, Croatian lecturers will teach in Indonesia, and vice versa. Activities will be run continuously every year in both countries. Besides, the courses will be taught across disciplines, including geopolitics, international organizations, peace and conflict, comparative geopolitical theories and practices, to
infrastructure management.

Rector of University of Lampung, Prof. Hasriadi Mat Akin, stated that Unila officially signed MoU with University of Zagreb and Vern University, Croatia, in which the signing ceremony was honourly perceived by The Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Nebojsa Koharovic, this morning.”

As the information, that this cooperation successfully conducted as result of the initiation of the former Governor of Lampung as well as Indonesian Ambassador to Croatia, Mr. Sjachroedin ZP.

“Unila would like to generate all students to gain experience by participating in International Class. Thus, Unila requires to be recognized internationally as to cooperate more with global stakeholders in the near future in order to attain Unilas vision to be the 10 best universities in Indonesia in 2025,” he enclosed.
