(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) has reaffirmed collaboration with one of Russia’s universities, Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics (UMTE). This collaboration was followed up by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, June 21, 2023, in St. Petersburg, Russia. The agreement was signed at the local campus assembly hall by Unila Chancellor, Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani and Chancellor of Saint Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics (UMTE). The signing was also witnessed by Unila and UMTE top officials. Among those in attendance from Unila were Dr. Ayi Ahadiat, Deputy Chancellor of PKTIK Unila, Prof. Dr. Nairobi, Dean of FEB Unila, Ida Nurhaida, M.Si., Dean of FISIP Unila, Dr. Ernie Hendrawaty, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation at Unila, and Yan Juansyah, D.E.A., a representative of Unila’s partner university, Malahayati University, while UMTE was represented by among others, Assoc. Prof. Anna Rumyantseva Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Natalia Ionova, Director of the Institute of International Programmes, Assoc. Prof. Eugeny Schipanov, Director of the Institute of Economics, Management, and Information Technologies. The collaboration seeks to identify the primary directions and modes of research, education, scientific, organizational, and scientific projects. It also encompasses the development of education and research programs to upgrade Unila’s academic staff.
The collaboration includes in particular, joint seminars, conferences, and other scientific activities including the development and publication related to educational literature, periodic scientific publications, and the integration of intellectual resources. It is also concerned with undergraduate and postgraduate students in research activities on fundamental and applied research aims by arranging probationary training for lecturers and students, and it is extended to incorporate various areas of cooperation, such as meetings, student competitions, sporting activities, and cultural exchanges.
