(Unila): The University of Lampung (Unila) held the University-Level National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad (ONMIPA-PT) in 2023.

Some 158 students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP), and the Faculty of Engineering (FT) took part in the Olympiad.

The ONMIPA-PT 2023 was officially opened by Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal, the Unila Deputy Chancellor for Student and Alumni Relations, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Rectorate’s first meeting room on the fourth floor.

The CEO of ONMIPA Unila, Dr. Roniyus Marjunus reported that the 158 Olympiad participants were grouped according to competitive fields, i.e., biology (50), mathematics (44), physics (34), and chemistry (30), respectively.

ONMIPA is an annual event conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s National Achievement Center (Puspresnas Kemendikbudristek RI). The competition is administered through stratified events, beginning at the university level, progressing to the regional level, and finally culminating in the national level.

The event aims to facilitate students to increase their accomplishment, academic achievement, insight, and interest in mathematics and natural sciences, which in turn necessarily improves the quality of tertiary institutions.

Dr. Anna Gustina Zainal praised the participants for their taking part in the 2023 ONMIPA-PT, hopping that the students from Unila having been regarded being qualified for the national level during the last three years win the Olympiad this year.

Only the 5 selected students out of 158 participants deserve to take part in the following stage, the regional stage, and they will have to qualify for the national stage if they successfully pass through the regional event. [PR Team]
