(Unila): University of Lampung provides scholarship for five prospective Palestinian students who wish to continue their studies at the local campus. This is as the cooperation result proposed by the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Zuhair SM Al Shun in his visit to Unila last year. The scholarship covers full tuition fee and accommodation by campus amenities.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bujang Rahman, M.Sc, accompanied by Head of Unila International Office (UPT PKLI), Prof. Cipta Ginting, welcomed the students at the Unila Main Hall fl. 2nd, Rectorate, Monday (11/02/2019).
The event was also attended by Dean of FEB, Prof. Satria Bangsawan, M.Sc., Dean of FKIP Prof. Dr. Patuan Raja, M.Pd., Dean of FK Dr. Muhartono, M. Kes., Sp. PA., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Sutopo Hadi, S.Si., M.Sc., as well as a number of lecturers of Unila.
Cipta explained, there were only three prospective students present in the welcoming ceremony, they are Ameer Samer Rafie Mohammad who will study at the Faculty of Medicine; Raed Arada at the Mechanical Engineering, and Amina Ata Abedelaty Elzaanin at the Master of Management program at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
However, other two prospective students, Yohia Khalil Ibrahim Taha who will study at Electrical Engineering and Mohammed ZZ Alshurafa at Computer Science FMIPA will arrive this week.
Cipta added, registration selection was conducted in their home country. The successful candidates received approval from the chairman to study at the University of Lampung with the length of study is according to the level of the program they proposed.
Bujang Rahman said, this scholarship is presented as Unila endeavour to provide an assistance for Palestinians in terms of education. Unila is committed to help Palestine by providing free accomodation, learning facilities and lectures during the study in the green campus, but excluding their life costs,” he said.[Humas]
